Whitlingham Boathouses Foundation (No 1133063) is a new community sports charity in Norwich which is giving our young people the opportunity to realise their potential in rowing and canoeing.
The As One … Campaign is currently raising £1m to build a new community training and competition centre for both rowing and canoeing in Whitlingham Country Park. This will provide state of the art facilities for sports, leisure and fitness for people of all ages and abilities from across our community.

There is a record entry for the Norwich Head of the River Race on Saturday.
Clubs from all over East Anglia and beyond will be racing over a 2000m and a 5000m course between Bramerton and Whitlingham Green in boats ranging from eights to single sculls and ages ranging from 12 to over 70.

Much excitement down at Norwich Canoe Club - the GB canoe marathon squad will be training at Whitlingham this Saturday!
Dyson Pendle, GB coach as well as Chief Coach for NCC, will be leading the session with a long distance training outing at 10am and an open 5 km race at 2pm.

Following on from the adult Learn2Row dates yesterday, Norwich Rowing Club has confirmed that there will be 5 Junior Learn2Row courses in 2012 running in April, May, July and August (2 courses).
The course dates are:
Easter holidays – Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 April
Summer half term - Wednesday 6 to Friday 8 June
Summer holidays – Wednesday 25 to Friday 27...

The dates have now been fixed for Norwich Rowing Club's 2012 Learn to Row courses.

Congratulations to the six Norwich Rowing Club winning crews at Boston Head of the River on Sunday who battled against winds in excess of 40mph! Unfortunately, this meant that several of small boat crews and scullers were unable to race due to the blustery conditions kicking up white water along the straight 3km course.

Norwich Rowing Club is starting the new year with a bumper entry at the Boston Head of the River Race on Sunday.
Norwich crews will be racing in all 3 divisions (1000; 1215 and 1445hrs) with ages ranging from 4 boys and girls under 14 to 4 veterans over 60 entered in every boatsize from single sculls to eights.

This has been a huge boost to our funds and will go towards Phase 2 of the new community rowing and canoeing facility at Whitlingham, Norwich.
