Whitlingham Boathouses Foundation (No 1133063) is a new community sports charity in Norwich which is giving our young people the opportunity to realise their potential in rowing and canoeing.
The As One … Campaign is currently raising £1m to build a new community training and competition centre for both rowing and canoeing in Whitlingham Country Park. This will provide state of the art facilities for sports, leisure and fitness for people of all ages and abilities from across our community.

Whitlingham Boathouses based clubs achieved some great results at the London Women's Head of the River Race today. Four eights travelled to the event which is raced over the 4 and 1/4 mile Boat Race course but in the oposite direction from Chiswick to Putney.

Whitlingham Boathouses Foundation (Registered Charity No 1133063) provides community rowing and canoeing opportunities for people of all ages through a mix of competitive and recreational water-based activities. Richard Bacon, MP for South Norfolk, will be handing over a cheque for £50,000 to Whitlingham Boathouses on behalf of Sport England at 9.30am on Friday 2 March at the Boathouses in Whitlingham Country Park. The money comes from the Inspired Facilities fund and Whitlingham Boathouses is one of the first to receive a grant.

There is a record entry for the Norwich Head of the River Race on Saturday.

Much excitement down at Norwich Canoe Club - the GB canoe marathon squad will be training at Whitlingham this Saturday!

Following on from the adult Learn2Row dates yesterday, Norwich Rowing Club has confirmed that there will be 5 Junior Learn2Row courses in 2012 running in April, May, July and August (2 courses).
The course dates are:
Easter holidays – Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 April
Summer half term - Wednesday 6 to Friday 8 June

The dates have now been fixed for Norwich Rowing Club's 2012 Learn to Row courses.

Whitlingham Boathouses is now an accredited Explore Rowing centre. We have 3 single sculls now and we will be adding to the Explore Rowing fleet with 5 more boats in April. This will provide a new pathway for those who prefer recreational to competitive sport. More details to follow.
