Whitlingham Boathouses Foundation (No 1133063) is a new community sports charity in Norwich which is giving our young people the opportunity to realise their potential in rowing and canoeing.
The As One … Campaign is currently raising £1m to build a new community training and competition centre for both rowing and canoeing in Whitlingham Country Park. This will provide state of the art facilities for sports, leisure and fitness for people of all ages and abilities from across our community.

Paula Nobbs has been busy collecting surplus clothing and turned some 289kgs of clothes into £231 cash for Whitlingham Boathouses last week!
Please help us to raise funds by bringing your clothing into the clubhouse and marked for Paula. Please follow these guidelines:
- place all clothing in a plain bin-bag (not branded)
- ensure that all clothes are clean

Three of the Whitlingham Boathouses-based clubs were in action over the weekend and earlier this week in the London Heads of the River.
On Sunday, 3 Norwich RC eights (2 mens crews average age over 55 and one womens crew average over 50) raced over the same course. This marked a first for Norwich with so many over 50s on the water at the same time!
On Monday and Tuesday, it was the turn of the juniors and Norwich School raced at both the Junior Scullers Head at Dorney Lake on Monday and the Schools Head in London on Tuesday.

Annie Gelinas, of Norwich Rowing Club, will be competing in the Waveney Triathlon on Sunday 13 May 2012 and will be raising funds for Whitlingham Boathouses Foundation.

Whitlingham Boathouses based clubs achieved some great results at the London Women's Head of the River Race today. Four eights travelled to the event which is raced over the 4 and 1/4 mile Boat Race course but in the oposite direction from Chiswick to Putney.

Richard Bacon, MP for South Norfolk, will be handing over a cheque for £50,000 to Whitlingham Boathouses on behalf of Sport England at 9.30am on Friday 2 March at the Boathouses in Whitlingham Country Park.
